Oscar-winning actor Daniel Kaluuya will star in the next sci-fi thriller from Together director Michael Shanks, titled Hotel Hotel Hotel Hotel.

A man wakes up trapped in a mysterious hotel room, isolated in a mental prison that challenges perception. His only chance of survival is to confront and cooperate with himself.

With a screenplay included on the 2021 Black List, Hotel Hotel Hotel Hotel evokes the atmosphere of Mikael Håfström’s 1408, starring John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson and adapted from Stephen King’s short story of the same name, but with a Saw-like premise.

A new mind-bending role for Daniel Kaluuya

It could be said that Daniel Kaluuya’s typecasting as a manipulated subversive began with the role of Bing in the 2011 Black Mirror episode Fifteen Million Merits, in which he played a man driven to rebellion while simultaneously trapped within the oppressive dynamics of a dystopia built around a talent show.

He achieved international recognition through his exceptionally intense performance as Chris in Get Out, which earned him his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, before working with Jordan Peele again on Nope.

However, the actor is widely known for his role as the hardliner W’Kabi in Black Panther and for winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for Judas and the Black Messiah, in which he portrayed Black Panther leader Fred Hampton.

Producers Adam McKay and Princess Pictures

Hotel Hotel Hotel Hotel will be produced by Mike Cowap and Emma Fitzsimmons for Princess Pictures, joined by none other than Adam McKay, whose films include The Big Short, Vice and Don’t Look Up, through his company HyperObject Industries.

Princess Pictures had already worked with Michael Shanks on his directorial debut, Together, a hugely successful horror rom-com: sold to Neon at Sundance 2025 for $17 million, the film went on to gross more than $32 million worldwide.

In short, a team capable of turning original stories into projects with strong international appeal.
